You will be happy to know this is the last week for summer squash - cause I am ripping those puppies out before I head to the hills next week!
When I harvested the last portion of the mature carrots, I discovered they were in sad, sad shape. So you only got a measly carrot or two this week. But never fear, when I get back, the next planting should be ready to harvest! Same with the lettuce mix - there are a whole lot of seedlings in the ground that should be ready to go in a few weeks (fingers crossed).
Tomatoes are slowing down, but the peppers are still going strong. I heard of at least one unfortunate pepper accident last week. So to try and prevent future fire-breathing incidents, this week I separated the hot and sweet peppers. Sooo....if you can't take the time to click on this link to check out the peppers on the website, know that if the bag of peppers is red and orange that means "fire". If the bag is a beautiful mix of yellow, orange, and red, that means "sweet" And those Lunchbox peppers are the sweetest peppers I have ever munched on, so don't miss out due to fear!
In the share this week: beets (finally!!), carrot, broccoli or cucumber, beans, red onion, lettuce mix, kale (for the greens folks), peppers (mix), tomatoes (mix), and the last of the summer squash!
Just a reminder that there is no share next week. I will be sending out some info for those who were interested in coming out for some u-pick while I am gone. If you have not yet told me you are interested, it's not too late!
Hope everyone has a great few weeks, it looks like I will be cold and wet in a tent all of next week in Montana!
